Partnership FAQs
At this time our partnership calendar of commitments if full.
Please check back for future opportunities to engage.
Stelo engages with partners via invitation and rolling open call. We are interested in supporting the creation of art via residencies, exhibitions, and public programming.
We embark on partnerships when they are in alignment with our values and annual goals. Our partnerships are rooted in co-creation of programs.
We encourage you to read the FAQs below to get a sense of the resources and support that Stelo has to offer prior to submitting your partnership proposal.
Outside of Park Block on the sidewalk area are 8 large planter boxes that we use for plant based programming.
Just above Park Block is a residential community where we have a studio apartment. The apartment is used to house artists in residence and is also offered at a reduced nightly rate for alumni and partners. To learn more about our apartment rental program visit the info page here.
Administrative Support
Co-creation is at the heart of our partnerships. We collaborate with partners to determine the type of support that is most appropriate for the program. Examples include managing an open call process for a residency, meetings to co-design programs, and staffing for events.
Financial Support
We believe that artists should be paid for their work. As such we provide honorariums to artists and creatives when they are in residence, when they are offering a public program, and when they are exhibiting work at our space(s).
We collaborate with our partners to determine how to budget for a program. Based on our annual budget we are able to offer varied amounts of financial support for partnerships, including paying administrative stipends to our partners to support the time spent co-planning our program(s).
Equity Lens
When developing a new program we ask ourselves the following questions. And when co-creating a program within a partnership we ask these same questions in conversation with our partner.
How will this program contribute to more equitable access to resources?
Who benefits from this program? And how do they benefit?
Are the people most impacted by this program meaningfully included in discussions and decisions?
Have all possible community partners been considered before specific partners were chosen?
How are we sharing this program, and its impact, via public reporting or external communication?
Is our program plan:
realistic?
trauma informed?
adequately funded?
adequately resourced with staff?;
adequately resourced to ensure successful implementation?
adequately resourced to ensure on-going data collection, public reporting, and community engagement?
If the answer to any of these questions is no, what resources or actions are needed?
Describe any changes we have made or will make to this program after applying this lens.
