Exhibition Description
Stelo Arts in Portland, OR
March 6th - April 12th
Open hours Thursday-Saturday 12:00-5:00 PM
Text-based work that confronts ideas of space, place, identity, life, and systems. Through a series of dynamic, community-made collaborative art, we reimagine the intersection of personal narrative and political consciousness, drawing attention to the ways in which our lives, in all their complexity, are shaped by the people, environments, structures and systems around us.
A storytelling experience—one that moves fluidly between spaces, where dialogue and reflection emerge naturally. The exhibit isn’t just a static display of artwork; it is an evolving conversation between the space, the community, and the visitor. Through collaborative, fluid storytelling, and poetics, the exhibit combines extremely diverse narratives.
Visitors will have the opportunity to participate and add to the stories and narratives with real-time exchanges with artists and community members. The exhibit prompts reflection on how we shape and are shaped by the world around us. Stelo and p:ear invites participants to not only witness but actively engage in a living, breathing dialogue about the role of art in community and social transformation.
